*JMC students either choose MATH40008 or first-year group project for computing students.
The first year of your undergraduate programme begins with the Introduction to University Mathematics, a four-week intensive module intended to develop a mathematical sense through elementary topics in logic, numbers and Euclidean geometry. It then follows by modules covering a wide range of disciplines in mathematics, providing a necessary background for further studies in specialised topics. During the end of year you will have opportunity to conduct an individual project, presenting your findings in the format of a poster. (JMC students have the option of doing a group project on computing instead.)
Please don't forget to consult the student handbook throughout your course of study.
